In college, my roommates kept a quote board. I managed to make the list more than once, but the only statement I kept documented was the following:
I say all this profound stupid stuff.
On Tuesday, January 11th of 2000, my Fiction professor told me that I might be able to support myself by writing. My reaction–as recorded in my journal:
Whoa, maybe… I love to write.
Time, space and experience happened. I continue to enjoy the profound, the silly and writing. And as George Eliot says,
It is never too late to be
what you might have been
